Projector Setup Guide
Choose by setup, not guesswork
Projector accessories are easier to choose when you start with your room and use case. Use this quick guide before buying a screen, stand, mount, case, or HDMI cable.
1. Pick the right screen size
- 80-inch screens are easier for smaller rooms, classrooms, and portable presentations.
- 100-inch screens are better for larger rooms, movie nights, and event setups where you have enough width and throw distance.
- Measure available wall width, ceiling height, viewing distance, and projector throw distance before ordering.
2. Choose the projector position
- Tripod stands help place compact projectors without permanent installation.
- Desktop stands work well on shelves, bedside tables, and media consoles.
- No-drill mounts can help in bedrooms, dorms, and rented spaces, but only on suitable smooth, clean, strong wall surfaces.
3. Check compatibility
- For stands and mounts, confirm your projector has a compatible mounting point, commonly a 1/4-inch screw mount for mini projectors.
- Confirm the projector weight is within the accessory's supported range before use.
- For HDMI cables, confirm both source device and projector use standard HDMI or a compatible adapter.
4. Build a portable kit
A simple portable setup usually includes a screen, projector stand, HDMI cable, and carrying case or storage bag. Keeping accessories together reduces setup time and missing-part issues.
